Working history
There are so few historical photographs of men and women engaged in work that these images are the result of many days trawling through boxes of old postcards. That so little attention was paid to what was half of people’s waking hours is in some ways indicative of the value placed upon working people by society.
There are so many more photographs of the things that were made, and so few of those who created them.
