Farm workers

These photographs were taken in and around a small village in the west of Worcestershire in 1969. The farm labourers were working on a mixed arable farm of the sort which has now entirely disappeared. The work was physically demanding, skilled, and the atmosphere both relaxed and intense. Within the farm there was little hierarchy, more a collective effort to manage the work and productivity.
